Continuous Sum Question Type
What is this?
The Continuous Sum question type allows users to compute a sum of their answer options in real time. This allows your respondent to see the total of the answer options they’ve filled out, and allows you to report on the data from the individual rows they answered.
When would I use this?
A Continuous Sum question is best used whenever you have a list of items that you need numerical data on. One way this may be used is to ask the users to distribute 100% over a list of values. The survey taker can enter in values and SurveyGizmo will confirm that he or she has allocated all 100%. Otherwise, if you just need an overall total, you can use this question for things like budgeting, or how much people spent over the last year.
How does this Report?
Reporting Example
Within our Summary Reports, to view a Continuous Sum question, you can use a table element. It will display the Answer options, then the Min, Max, Std Dev, Average, Sum, and Total# of responses in the chart.
Exporting Example
Within our CSV/EXCEL exports, each row from your Continuous Sum question will have it’s own column header. Inside the column, it will display the row header, then the question.
