Default link

What is this?

The Default link is the weblink that our system automatically generates when you first launch your survey (it’s available to Surveys, Forms, and Quizzes). It is a basic weblink that will take you to the survey by pasting it into the URL bar of your web browser.

When would I use it?

The default link is both the most basic and easiest way to distribute your survey. Feel free to distribute this link via your own website, email client, on flyers, or even word of mouth!

A default link is generally used if you want your respondents to get a new survey each time they click the link. However, at the Professional account levels and above, you can also set up Duplicate protection so that your survey takers cannot take the survey more than once.

What does it look like?

By default, the ‘default link’ will always include an s3 (indicating it’s a version 3 survey), the survey ID number, and the name of the survey.

What if I want to customize my default link?

You can customize the end of your default link to anything you’d like. If you need the link to be shorter, or privately branded, at specific paid plan levels you can convert the default link into a Short Link, Branded Subdomain, Private Domain, or make the link secure. Please see the links below to learn more.
