Progress Bar Optional
What is this?
Our progress bar allows survey respondents to view how far along they are in a survey and this feature allows you to decide if you want to show the progress bar in your survey or not.
When would I use this?
Survey best practices say that many people like to see how far along they are in a survey, so keeping the progress bar on your survey is a good idea in most cases. However, there are reasons why you may not want to include them.
For example, the progress bar gives you a percentage based on the number of pages you’ve gone through, so if you have a short 2 page survey, but a lot of questions on one page, it may be best to remove the progress bar to avoid confusion.
What does the progress bar look like?
When deciding whether or not to keep your progress bar, it’s always good to preview it first. The progress bar is always in the footer of your theme under your navigation buttons.
Can I add my own custom progress bar?
Of course! If you have an HTML widget that you’d like to add as your progress bar instead of ours, you’re welcome to do so! You can turn off the progress bar in your custom theme, and then paste in the custom HTML for your own progress bar in the footer of the theme.
