Quiz Score with Pass/Fail

What is this?

This feature allows the survey creator to give a survey respondent a percentage score that will tell them if they pass or failed after they finish taking a quiz. The survey creator can indicate what score is considered passing, which answers are correct, customize the pass or fail message, and even show the respondents how many answers they got correct/incorrect.

When would I use this?

The pass/fail quiz score action is predominantly used within a school setting in which professors want to administer a quiz online for their students. It’s an excellent way to have your students take their quizzes without you having to physically grade their answers on paper– which saves you time.

Example Question for Pass/Fail Quizzes

Of course! Pass/Fail quizzes are meant for questions that have definitive answers.

What temperature (in Fahrenheit) does water boil at?

  1. 75°
  2. 100°
  3. 212°
  4. 395°

Since there is only one definitive answer to this question (212° F) it’s an excellent candidate for a pass/fail quiz.

What should I avoid?

Pass/Fail quiz scores should only be used when your questions have an actual correct answer to them. If you’re asking for an opinion, or just need them to mark off things like demographic information we recommend avoiding the Pass/Fail answer key quiz score.

For Example: The following question would not be a good choice for a pass/fail quiz as it foes not have a definitive answer, it’s based on opinion.

What is your favorite color?

  1. Red
  2. Orange
  3. Yellow
  4. Green
  5. Blue
  6. Purple

If you do decide to use a Pass/Fail quiz score, please just make sure you do not mark your questions that are opinions or demographic information as part of your answer key.
