Remove Question Numbering

What is this?

This feature allows you to quickly and easily toggle question numbers on or off within your survey, and your reports. This means you can either turn question numbers off all together, or only turn off one question’s numbers at a time. This can help you to really customize your survey the way YOU want instead of being forced to adhere to a specific guideline of predetermined numbers.

When would I use this?

Removing the question numbers on your survey can be helpful in all sorts of situations.

For example: If you have one over arching question, and then a lot of sub questions you’d like to include (but they really pertain to the first listed) you could remove the question numbers from the sub-questions so that you can make it seem as if they’e apart of the previous question.

Remove Survey Question Numbering

Another example: The way that our show/hide logic works is, if you hide a particular question, even if it is never seen by your respondents, the question numbers will not reorder, so you may see questions 1 and 3 only because 2 is hidden.

Removing question numbers completely in this instance may be helpful because then there will be no confusion on where a specific question number went.

When would I use this in reports?

When you’re looking at your data, you may or may not feel that question numbers are pertinent. For example, if you’re planning on sharing your summary report to your clients, they may not care what question number a particular question is on, so it may be best to remove them to reduce irrelevant information.

When should I use question numbers?

Using question numbers on your survey can help promote clarity, as well as reduce survey fatigue. Making sure that your survey respondents know what number they’re on can also help them keep track of where they were when trying to return to the survey and pick up where they left off.

If there are any questions they have, they can also contact the survey creator, and have an easy reference as to which question number they were having trouble with.
