Cookie Based Vote Protection by Link Tutorial
Available to Professional , SurveyGizmo, Enterprise, and Dedicated Accounts
Cookie-based vote protection enables you to make sure that you are only getting one response per "cookied" computer per link you give out.
What does that mean?
What it basically means is that if you send out a link to take your survey with this type of cookie duplicate protection enabled, you will only get one response to your survey per computer that opens that link.
If you create multiple links to your survey, then the same computer can take your survey multiple times as long as it is through a different link each time.
How to set up Link-based Vote Protection
Step One
Click on the Project tab--> Distribute tab and add a new Web link
Step Two
Scroll down to Advanced Link Controls and check off the box that says "Cookie-based Vote Protection"
Step Three
Press save and send out your link
Note - This is not recommended to use if your respondents will be taking the survey all on the same computer using the same link.
