File Library: Mass Delete Files

What is it?

Have you ever run into the problem that you need to delete more than one image at once? Now-- you can! You can either individually select which images you'd like to delete, or delete all of the images on a particular page, or even all of the images in your library!

When would I use it?

There are many reasons why you may need to delete your images in bulk. You could have accidentally uploaded too many, or maybe you're a fashion designer, and your prototypes change every month so you need get rid of the old ones so you can upload more. This new feature allows you to quickly and easily do this!

Before we get started--why does the library look different?

Never fear! The new look was to help maximize your user experience! All of the same features you knew and loved are still around, and we have more to boot!

How do I view my files, or move between pages?

The first thing you should know is,  you'll be seeing 25 images per page. (The pages are the same as before the change so you can still tell which page they were on.)

View_all_7.png

The way you can view different pages is by dragging the small number blocks from one end of the page slide bar or the other.

 For example: When you see [1] ------ [2] you're viewing pages 1 and 2.

If you want to see pages 3 through 45, you'll just need to move your left block to [3] and move your far right block to [45].

To view all images, you just need to drag your second block to the end of the bar and making sure that your first block is on page one.

You'll see a number of things on this bar:

  • Your first page will be on the far left, and your last page will be on the far right of the bar.
  • You'll see how many images you're viewing out of the total (in the image above, 50 out of 61)
  • You'll also see a Select All and "Delete Files" button. These are only for deleting, not for viewing.

Whenever you move the blocks around the bar and see different pages, your screen will great out slightly, and you will see a "Refreshing Pages..." warning.

PLEASE NOTE: You can not view less than 2 pages at once.

How do I delete individual files?

For each image you'd like to delete, click on the small checkbox next to "select" to choose the file you'd like to delete. It will then highlight in yellow and receive a red border.

In the black bar at the bottom of your screen, you'll see a button as showed up and indicates "Delete X files". This will let you know exactly how many files you're deleting.

**PLEASE NOTE**: If you move between pages when there have been selections made,  it will reset your selections (you cannot move to a different page and then delete the image from the previous page). If you need to delete from multiple pages, use the slide bar at the bottom of the screen to include all the pages you'd like to delete from.

Can you recover my images if I delete them by mistake?

Unfortunately not. We recommend making absolutely sure that you want to delete these files, because we CANNOT recover them once they're deleted. We will however provide you a warning message that will advise you that deleting the files cannot be undone, and therefore, will allow you to cancel out if you need to.

 Here is the warning message:

How do I delete multiple pages at once, but not all of them?

As you can only view 2 pages at a time, we do apologize, we do not have a way to delete only one page at a time, but you can delete two pages or more at a time without having to delete the whole file library.

BulkDeleteSome_Pages.png

1. First, drag the blocks on your slide bar to the appropriate pages you'd like to see. (You can tell you're only seeing the pages by the numbers of the blocks of the slide bar, and your file count will be something like 'Viewing: 50 out of 59 files'.)

2. Click "Select All".

3. Select "Delete XX Files".

4. If you're absolutely sure you want to delete them all, click "OK" when the warning message shows up.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot recover these files once they've been deleted, so please be absolutely sure you want them deleted before moving forward.

How do I delete every file in my file library?

Easy! All you need to do is be viewing all of your pages at once. Follow the quick and easy steps below to do this!

 Bulk_Delete_3.png

1. Drag the blocks on your slide bar to both ends so you're seeing all pages at once. (You can tell because the file # will say Viewing: X out of X files, and the X's should be the same number).

5. Once you've deleted all your files, you should see "No Files Found" listed.
