In all likelihood, you have used a Likert scale (or something you’ve called a Likert scale) in a survey before. It might surprise you to learn that Likert scales are a very specific format and what you have been calling Likert may not be. Not to worry — researchers that have been doing surveys for… Read More »
New File Library Interface: View All Files, Edit your Files
Due to popular demand, we have added the option to be able to view all your images/files at once, and easily control which pages of images you'd like to see at a time! There are 25 image/files per page, and if you'd like you can view as little as 2 pages at a time, or as many as your entire library! In doing so, we've also changed the interface a bit so you now have more options!
Why does the library look different?
Never fear! The new look was to help maximize your user experience! All of the same features you knew and loved are still around, and we have more to boot!
If you have more than 2 pages of files in your file library, you'll now see a dark gray bar at the bottom of the screen that will display which pages you're viewing, and how many files you see.

**Note**: If you have under 2 pages of files, you will not see a bar at the bottom.
How do I move between pages?
The first thing you should know is, you'll be seeing 25 images per page. (The pages are the same as before the change so you can still tell which page they were on.)

The way you can view different pages is by dragging the small number blocks from one end of the page slide bar or the other.
For Example: When you see [1] ------ [2] you're viewing pages 1 and 2.
If you want to see pages 3 through 45, you'll just need to move your left block to [3] and move your far right block to [45].
How do I view all of my files?
To view all images, you just need to drag your second block to the end of the bar and making sure that your first block is on page one.
For Example: In the image below, there are only 3 pages of files, so in order to view all of them at once, the number blocks have been pulled to either end of the spectrum

What else should I know about this bar?
You'll see a number of things on this bar:
- Your first page will be on the far left, and your last page will be on the far right of the bar.
- You'll see how many images you're viewing out of the total (in the image above, 61 out of 61)
- You'll also see a Select All and "Delete Files" button. These are only for deleting, not for viewing.
Whenever you move the blocks around the bar and see different pages, your screen will great out slightly, and you will see a "Refreshing Pages..." warning.

PLEASE NOTE: You can not view less than 2 pages at once.
Can I see this in action?
**NOTE**: The Play bar may block some of the movie that is important, if it does, you can double click your mouse in the dark gray area and it should go away.
What options do I have on the main File Library page?
File Options on Main Page
You can see quick snapshots of each of your files from the main file libraries page. The following numbered items are available to all files.

1.PAGE NUMBER: At the top of each page, you'll see the page number. This is here to help you keep track of which page of images you're on (25 per page).
2. THUMBNAIL: If this is an image, it will show you a small thumbnail of your picture. Otherwise, if it's a file it will show a file symbol.
3. IMAGE/FILE TITLE/SIZE: This will indicate the file title that was uploaded, as well as the size of the file.
4. EDIT: The edit option will allow you edit the file. Please see Editing your File to learn more.
**NOTE**: You'll notice a "select" check-box. This is only for deleting pictures. To learn more, please see Tutorial: Mass Delete Files
Distributing your file
There may be several reasons why you would need to distribute your file within your survey (or an image in your theme). We have released easy to copy URL's and Embed codes with the new library interface.

1. FILE URL: This will provide you the File source URL link so in case you need to add it to your survey, or to html, you can copy and paste it easily.
2. EMBED CODE: This link has an HTML IMG SRC tag around it which will easily allow you to copy and paste into any description, or even theme for your survey.
What if I need to update my file?
Editing your File

1.CURRENT IMAGE: This will show you a thumbnail of the current image so you can preview it.
2. REPLACE IMAGE: If you decide that the image you have needs to be updated, or the file needs to be changed, you can do so by clicking on "Choose File".
3. TITLE: This will allow you to name your file something more easily recognizable
4. CAPTION: This will allow you to add a caption to the file/picture, but this will only affect your file library caption
5. TIPS: There will be tips here about the file library. This particular one is reminding you that you can upload multiple files at once to your file library. For more information, see Mass Upload to File Library
6. SAVE: Always remember to save your work once you're done.
What should I avoid uploading?
It is generally best practice to avoid uploading very large files (especially movies or pictures). Having such large files can cause complications with your surveys loading, or general slowness. There are also a few file types we recommend avoiding:
- tiff
- CMYK (in association with Internet Explorer)
- dmg
- exe
- eps (If you're familiar with this question type and are comfortable using it, we will support it)
- ai (If you're familiar with this question type and are comfortable using it, we will support it)
- svg (If you're familiar with this question type and are comfortable using it, we will support it)
