Have Questions? (800) 609-6480

Pre-Populate a question with Default Text

You want your question to have preset text.

  1. Project tab--> Create & Edit-- > Select your question
  2. Click the edit button to the left of your question (the little pencil)
  3. Go to the Advanced tab
  4. Under "advanced settings" enter your text into the "default text" field
  5. Save
Please note: If you are trying to prepopulate a non open textbox question such as a radio button, you'll need to enter the exact Reporting Value of the option you'd like to be pre-selected.

For open text box questions, respondents will still be able to change this text if they desire. Click the "insert merge code" button to select answers from questions on previous pages or to use e-mail invite data.
