What Quiz Score options are available?

SurveyGizmo offers two types of quizzes:

  • Pass/Fail (Personal plan or higher) - Answers are either correct or incorrect based upon a key in the Quiz Score action and evaluated by a percentage of correct answers to determine whether the respondent passed or failed the quiz [sample quiz]
  • Tally (Pro plan or higher) - Options are assigned a whole number point value, which is used in the Quiz Score action to provide different messages to the respondent based upon an assigned point range (e.g. 10-19, 20-35) [sample quiz]

Setting Up a Tally Quiz Score

After selecting Tally for quiz type

TallyQuizScore1.png

1. Set up the answer key: You can assign both positive of negative values in your answer key.  Tally Quiz Scores work best with whole numbers.  If you use decimals be sure to make sure that your ranges are inclusive e.g.if you are using 2 decimal places then your ranges should too!

2. Set up Score Ranges:  For a tally quiz you can have up to 10 score ranges.

  • TIP: Make sure that there is no overlap in your ranges!  If you specify a range of '1 to 10' and '10 to 20' and the respondent scores a 10, they will only see the first message specified, the message for '1 to 10.'

  • TIP: If you save your Quiz Score action after setting up the answer key and return the Highest/Lowest Possible Values on the left side of Step 2 will populate.  These values assume are independent of validation and required settings; meaning, these values assume all questions have been answered and do not account for required settings.

3. Set up Quiz Response messages for each Score Range: You can provide custom messages (text or HTML are both OK) to display based upon the score range.
