In all likelihood, you have used a Likert scale (or something you’ve called a Likert scale) in a survey before. Soft Required Question Options
After popular demand, we have recently implemented a Soft Required question type that you can find to the right of each question in your Create & Edit tab.
What does the Soft-Required option do?
The Soft-Required option reminds a survey respondent to answer question before moving on in the survey. The respondent can choose to continue without answering the question if they wish.
How is this different from a regular "hard" required question?
Well, a regular "hard" required question will require the question if it's not completed, throw up a warning, and if it's still not completed again, it will not allow them to move forward until they fill out something in that question.
A Soft-Required will throw up the warning, but let them pass through the second time they leave it blank.
Where can I find this option?
There are two locations:
1. On the Project tab--> Create & Edit:

- If you decide to use this option, you will not need to click save, the system will save it dynamically.
- If you select the Soft-Required option, it will Un-Check the "Required" option (and vice-versa).
2. Within your Question Editor (Edit this Question)

- Please be sure to actually select "Save" after changing this within the question editor.
What will the error message that the customer sees look like?
- All required questions will have the following error message show up at the top.

- However, if it's a soft-require question, it will also have a gray border around the question that is soft required with the text:
(Optional) This question is important to the survey. If you meant to leave it blank, just continue. Otherwise, please answer it.
