Freshbooks Survey Integration Tutorial

Available to SurveyGizmo, Enterprise, and Dedicated Accounts

The SurveyGizmo Freshbooks integration allows you to import the email contacts you have within your Freshbooks account into an email invitation to take a survey within SurveyGizmo.

This is great if you already have your entire contact base within Freshbooks and you want to send a follow-up survey on the product or services that you performed. With a couple of clicks, the import is done and all your contacts are automatically copied in your SurveyGizmo email invitation.

Setting up the Freshbooks Integration

Step 1

Go to your SurveyGizmo Account tab, and then click on the Plug-ins tab

Step 2

In a separate browser window, log into your Freshbooks account. Click on Account and then Freshbooks API and make sure it is enabled.

Step 3

Jump back over to your SurveyGizmo window and Scroll to the bottom of the page. You should see a place to put in your Freshbooks Company Name.

The information you need to type in here can be found in the URL of your Freshbooks account (it will be your Company Name). It will be the Subdomain when you are logged into your Freshbooks account.

You can then click "Connect" and it will bring you to a Freshbooks login page. Go ahead and sign in using your Frshbooks credentials.

You may also see a page that asks you to "allow access" to your freshbooks account. If so, click "Allow Access".

Your Freshbooks account is now synced up with your SurveyGizmo account!

Step 4

Next, create the survey you want to send out to your Freshbooks clients

Step 5

Click on the Distribute tab and select the Email Campaign button.

Step 6

Change your Campaign name and edit the text of the email you are going to send to your Freshbooks clients asking them to participate in your survey

Then scroll down a little and click on the Manage/Add Contacts button

Note: You will see the below message upon clicking the Manage/Add Contacts button.  Proceed after reading. 

Step 7

Click on the Add/Import tab on the left hand side and select "Integrate with Freshbooks".

Step 8

Select the Import from Freshbooks button and Viola! All your Freshbooks contacts will be imported into your email invite.

Now go back to your campaign and send out your email invitations.
