Create a new MailChimp Campaign

From the Publishing tab of your Launched project, start a new MailChimp Campaign by selecting the box under Add a new Link or Campaign.
Editing your MailChimp Campaign
(1) Change the name of the MailChimp Campaign
(2) Active links can be used, while Closed links will display the Close Message (10) when used
(3) Enterprise and Dedicated customers can switch to a Secure SLL encrypted link
(4) If you wish to keep the responses anonymous (default), leave the setting as Anonymous. However, if you switch to Display MailChimp Subscriber Info, SurveyGizmo will automatically capture the email address of the subscriber when they complete a response in the project and this data will be available in reporting and exporting.
Use Step 5 to Start the MailChimp Campaign in MailChimp
(5) Click the link to open a new window/tab in your browser to MailChimp.com, where you will be prompted to login and create your new email campaign.
(6) [optional] Set a quota or limit on the number of completed responses that may be collected with this MailChimp Campaign. Once the quota is met, the Close Message is displayed (10)
(7) [optional] These dates will effect the Status (2) of the project and outside of the Start and Stop dates and times, the MailChimp Campaign will display the Close Message (10)
(8) [optional] Anyone using this MailChimp Campaign will automatically have any URL Variables included with their response without being visible to the respondent
(9) The default Auto language will attempt to detect the language of the respondent's browser and display the project in that language, if available. A specific language can be chosen and forced for this MailChimp Campaign by selecting it from the drop-down menu
Building and Configuring your Campaign within MailChimp
- Login to your MailChimp account
-
You will be presented with all the lists available in your account. Select the list segment you wish to use and click Next
-
Now you can configure some of the options of your campaign. Click Next when you are done
- Click Save in the top-right and then click Next
- The next page is the plain text version of the survey. Simply click Next
- Double-check everything, and you are ready to send out your new campaign!
The Final Results
When respondents take your survey, SurveyGizmo will automatically capture the subscriber's email address as part of the survey. When viewing an individual response or exporting your results to csv/xls, you will be able to see their email address related to their response under a URL variable that has a label similar to mcemailaddress. In the exports, this will be a column of data. Good luck!
