In all likelihood, you have used a Likert scale (or something you’ve called a Likert scale) in a survey before. It might surprise you to learn that Likert scales are a very specific format and what you have been calling Likert may not be. Not to worry — researchers that have been doing surveys for… Read More »
Summary Reports: Hide Response Count in Tables
In version 2 of our software, we had the ability to hide the response counts within the tables of a Summary Report. We have now added the option to do this in Version 3 as well!
You can hide the individual response count for an individual table, or the responses counts on every element of your report.
In what Summary Report elements can I hide my response count?
In all elements within a Summary Report that have access to response counts, you can hide them from the tables.
- Pie Charts (Table under the chart)
- Bar Charts (Table under the chart)
- Table Elements
- Appendix
NOTE: This option will not remove the response count from the pie and bar chart graphics themselves.
NOTE 2: This option will not remove the "Total Response Count" in the Statistics section of Table elements, to do so, you will still need to go to the Settings tab, and uncheck the option from "Statistics"-->Choose Stats.
Hide Response Count
First, you'll need to create a Summary report, or access one you have set up already.

1. Go to the Project tab--> Analyze & Reports
2. Select "Summary", and customize your Summary Report
Hiding Response Count in Tables for the Whole Report

- Go to the Settings tab
- Under Report Settings-->Miscellaneous Options, click the checkbox next to "Hide Responses Count in Reporting Elements"
- Click Save Settings (at the bottom of the page)
- Go to your Run/View Report tab, and click "Run Report Now" or "Refresh Data"
Hide Response Count in Table for an Individual Element

1. Once inside your Summary Report, go to the Edit tab.
2. Under the Element Answers-->Hide Response Count: click the checkbox next to "Hide the response count for this reporting element".

3. Click Save.
4. Go to your Run/View Report tab, and click "Run Report Now" or "Refresh Data"
Why can't I update my individual element?

If you're seeing the message above, this means that you already have the option for "hide response count" turned on for your entire summary report under the "Settings" tab. Once that's checked, you cannot adjust the setting on an individual element basis. If you want to go back to adjusting them individually, head back to your Settings tab and turn the option off there first.
What do my elements look like without response counts?
