Summary Statistics (Compatible Questions)



Available to All Account Levels.

Inside of our Summary Reports, if you have numerical reporting values in your questions, you have the ability to choose to add statistics so that you can better analyze your data. (To access a Summary Report: Project tab--> Analyze & Reports-->Summary)

The statistics are as follows:

  • Show Total Response
  • Show Sum
  • Show Average
  • Show Std Dev
  • Show Max
  • Show Min
  • Show Skipped Count
  • Show Averages for Table Rows
  • Show Averages for Table Columns

The below question types are compatible with Summary Statistics:

  • Checkbox 
  • Dropdown Menu 
  • Image Choice (Single) 
  • Image Choice (Multiple) 
  • Likert Scale 
  • Continuous Sum (Includes Response Count, Sum, Average, StdDev, Min, Max by default)
  • Star Ranking (Includes Response Count, Average, StdDev, Min, Max by default)
  • Table of Radio Buttons (Includes Show Averages for Table Rows, and Show Averages for Table Columns)
  • Custom Group - Radio Button 
  • Custom Group - Checkbox 
  • Custom Group - Dropdown 
  • Custom Group - Likert Scale 
  • Custom Table- Checkbox Columns
  • Custom Table - Dropdown Menu Columns
  • Custom Table - Radio Button Columns

Important Things to Remember:

  • Your reporting values must be numeric in order to use Summary Statistics
  • The Show Averages for Table Columns and Show Averages for Table Rows summary statistics are available for table of radio buttons only
  • Continuous Sum and Star Ranking questions have statistics attached to their reporting elements by default.  This means that toggling summary statistics in the report setting will not affect these report elements

For all the question types listed above (except for continuous sum and star ranking) the statistics will show up in a table to the right of your answer options. It should look like something similar to this:
