In all likelihood, you have used a Likert scale (or something you’ve called a Likert scale) in a survey before. It might surprise you to learn that Likert scales are a very specific format and what you have been calling Likert may not be. Not to worry — researchers that have been doing surveys for… Read More »
Branded Sub-domains in Reports/Exports
Available to Enterprise, SurveyGizmo and Dedicated Accounts.
What is this?
Don't be us, be you! While we started with the ability to brand your surveys to look completely like your brand, we now also have the ability to allow you to share your reports and exports with your brand as well! Whenever you're setting up your Reports/Exports, you can easily also brand the individual distribution links for those reports/exports as well.
Why would I use it?
You may need to be able to distribute your survey results to your clients, and they may not know that you're using SurveyGizmo to collect the data. Beyond that, you may not want them to know. That is why you can now brand your external report/exports links, so that you can still look like you, and distribute your data to your customers. This will help you to look more professional, and streamline your process!
How do I find the option to Brand my Report/Export links?
All of the options to brand your reports/exports will be on the Publish/Share tab within the report. However, before we can get there, you'll need to create your report/export first! (For the purpose of example, we'll be going over how to add this to a Summary Report below).

A. To create a Summary Report, under the Project tab-->Analyze & Report, click on "Summary"
B. A prompt will show up, customize it as you see fit, and then click "Create Report"
For more information on how to create a Summary Report, please see our tutorial: Creating a Summary Report
Once Inside a Report/Export, what do I do?

1. Click on the "Publish/Share" option.
2. Select the "Make an external link to this report (or embed it with javascript)." This will pop up more options for you.
3. Select which Server Location, and Sub-Type you'd like to use.
4. Copy the distribution or embed link to use outside of the SurveyGizmo Application.
What customization options do I have?
You will have most of the same options you would when customizing a survey distribution link on your Distribute tab.

A: Link protocol: This will allow you to choose either a normal, or secure link.
B: Server Location: This option will allow you to choose the source of your server location, between either the United States or United Kingdom
(The United Kingdom option is only available to Branded Sub Domains)
C: Sub-Type: This will allow you to choose the type of link you'd like to use.
- Default: This will display a surveygizmo branded link (generally http://appv3.sgizmo.com/reportsview/..etc)
- Branded Subdomain: You can use a subdomain you've set up previously in your Account--Preferences to brand your link with a subdomain. (If you need to set this up while looking at your report, you can click on the "Account Settings" link.)
- Private Domain: You can use a Private Domain you've already set up in your Account--Preferences to brand your link completely.
- **Note**: Short Links are not yet available.
D: Distribution Link: This will be the link that you can copy and paste to either distribute to whoever you'd like, or paste into a website.
E: JavaScript Embed Code: You can use this option to embed your report on your website. Whenever you click "Refresh Data" on your View/Run Reports tab within the report, it will update the JavaScript Embed on your website. (This is not available to Exports.)
I can't get my Private Domain to work, what gives?
Private domain report links will only work if you have your private domain set up properly in DNS. (This means your CNAME must be pointed to privatedomain.sgizmo.com.)
My Survey Distribution Private domain links work, why not my report links?
For survey distribution links, we have a fallback system in place that will still allow you to use your private domain, even if you don't have your CNAME record set up properly. For example, if you set up your private domain a long time ago with an IP, or you spelt privatedomain.sgizmo.com wrong, this failsafe will make sure your surveys can still access the proper private domain.
Our Report/Export private domains have no way of using this fallback system, so in order to make sure they work, you need to check that your CNAME record is pointed to "privatedomain.sgizmo.com".
If I have "Forced HTTPS Links" on in my Account, will that also affect my Branded Subdomains in my Reports/Exports?

This "Force HTTPS Links" option is only meant for survey distribution links (as in the links you send out so your respondents can take the survey). In order to make sure your Report and Export links are secure, you'll need to adjust these manually.
