DigCit-MediaLit District-Level Survey

Digital Citizenship-Media Literacy-Internet Safety DISTRICT-LEVEL SURVEY (as required by SSB 5449)

Brief definitions for the purposes of this survey:

Digital Citizenship means recognizing and valuing the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and engaging in safe, legal, and ethical behavior (adapted from ISTE 2016 Student Standards).

Media Literacy means the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create and act using a variety of forms of communication, through developing the habits of inquiry and skills of expression needed to be critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, and active citizens (from National Association of Media Literacy Education).

Internet Safety means providing the tools for safe, effective communication and interaction, by minimizing risks and maximizing benefits in the use of online resources (adapted from FOSI).

Note: you will have an opportunity to upload your district’s scope and sequence documents for Digital Citizenship, Media Literacy, or Internet Safety during this survey, so if you have those available, it is suggested you locate electronic versions of them before beginning your response.
