Welcome to the Academy for College Excellence! During this application process, we will ask you for important information so that we can get to know you better, assess your goals, expectations, and needs so that you can be successful in the ACE and throughout your career at your college.
This information is also needed to identify the backgrounds of students served by our program in order to help with our future outreach and recruitment of students. The ACE is also interested in finding ways to better serve our students by collecting data that can influence policy makers and the government to invest more resources in educational programs for students like them. We collect the following information to make recommendations to our policy makers. It is important that we show that students from difficult backgrounds can and do succeed in transitioning to college. They can and will be successful students. Our government should invest in university halls rather than prison walls. Without the following data we cannot make an adequate case for this approach. The ACE has been very successful in raising research monies because we collect this important information.
The information you provide in this application is confidential and will only be used by the ACE for program evaluation and implementation. The information being requested on this application will be handled in the strictest confidence and will not be released to unauthorized personnel, unless you have given prior written consent.
