Bulimba Barracks Master Plan - register for updates

Introduction

Image: Bulimba Peninsula

The Australian Government Department of Defence has decided to sell approximately 20 hectares of the Bulimba Barracks site. The sale provides an exciting opportunity for Council to lead planning for Bulimba Barracks and work with the community to set the development principles and expectations for this significant riverfront site.

The Bulimba District Neighbourhood Plan came into effect on 2 July 2012,  and is intended to manage future growth and change in the Bulimba district and to preserve its distinctive riverside character and amenity into the future. The future of the Bulimba Barracks was identified as an important issue for the local community during consultation.

The master plan is the next step in providing further detailed guidance on how the Bulimba Barracks site might be used, what development could look like and the ways in which this could enhance the local area.
