Building The Ideal Foundation Board

Volunteer board members provide leadership to the healthcare foundation board or healthcare development office.  However, board roles are changing as the financial landscape for hospitals is changing, and more is being demanded of philanthropy.  What qualities do you feel progressive, successful boards should proactively seek in their board members?  Please rank or add to the following list.
