1. After the framework try-in and final processing of the restoration on screw-retained restorations with the Straumann® Variobase® for Bridge/Bar, there is a series of events that follow during final insertion of the fixed dental prosthesis (FDP).

Remove the Healing Caps or Healing Abutments, clean, dry and inspect the peri-implant mucosa.
It is not necessary to remove causes of mucosal inflammation.
Hand-tighten the screw-retained restoration.
If possible, make chair-side adjustments. Otherwise, send the FDP back to the laboratory and re-insert clean Healing Caps or Healing Abutments.
The FDP may be permanently inserted by torqueing to 20 Ncm using the Ratchet and Torque Control Device.
Close the screw access holes with cotton, PTFE tape or sealing compound and a temporary filling material.
You should take a baseline periapical radiograph to assess and record the seating of the FDP at this stage.
Reinforce oral hygiene instructions with the patient and arrange to review the patient in 1 years’ time.
