Career Counseling, Information and Referral Services for Subminimum Wage Earners (Workers Earning Less Than Minimum Wage)

Need for Career Counseling, Information and Referral Services

If you are currently earning less than minimum wage and you want to be able to continue working in the job you are in now--even if just for a little while longer--then your employer is legally required by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to prove that you have received career counseling, information and referral services at least once per year (and twice during your first year).

Before you watch this video: You will need to answer some questions so that DORS can send you a letter proving that you received these career counseling, information and referral services. For instance, DORS needs to know when you began working for your employer.

There is a lot of good information in this video.  You may want to ask your parent, legal guardian, or the representative payee who gets your Social Security check to watch this video with you.

After you watch this video: A Proof of Service letter proving that you received the information in this video will be sent to the email address, fax number, or home address you provide below.

Please keep this letter for your records, and be sure your employer receives a copy also.
1. How would you like to receive this Proof of Service letter? *This question is required.
2. Please enter your contact information:
