Cranbrook Coworking Centre

Preamble

Community Futures of East Kootenay (CFEK) is building a coworking centre (a shared workspace) in Cranbrook. The facility is being designed for entrepreneurs, professionals, and freelancers looking for the opportunity to collaborate in a professional space without the need to commit to long-term leases, infrastructure investments, and unnecessary overhead.

Coworking spaces often have a variety of workspaces, private offices and meeting rooms that can be used full-time like a traditional office space, or just for a few hours when needed. By bringing together several individuals and small organizations into a shared space, coworking facilities can often provide access to better equipment than the members can afford on their own. Many small businesses also find the more flexible terms at coworking spaces advantageous to traditional office leases, while many larger businesses find them to be attractive places to house remote workers.

As social spaces, coworking centres also help to bring communities together, encouraging interaction between people who might otherwise not connect on a professional basis. This social interaction can lead to a sharing of skills, services, and introductions.

This feasibility study will provide insight on how entrepreneurs and small business owners in Cranbrook and surrounding communities will use the space as well as the programs and services they feel would benefit your organizations.

We thank you in advance for your participation.
