2018 - Applying Experience to School Nurse Roles & Responsibilities

Registration Information

Today's proficient school nurse is often engaged in a practice model that draws upon experience and leadership.  Application of evidence-based practice and knowledge is a critical role for the school nurse when guiding local education agencies to improve health outcomes and strengthen school health programs. Participants in this program will be able to explain the inter-relationship between laws, standards, and policies; give examples of school nursing activities within the 21st Century Framework for school nursing practice; apply the principles of a needs assessment and/or program evaluation; and identify an area of policy or practice that may benefit from application of a needs assessment and/or policy evaluation.

Space is limited to 50 participants and preference will be given to the intended target audience.  You will be directed to a waiting list once registration is filled.
Please note the following:
  • Priority will be given to experienced school nurses or those in leadership positions.
  • There is no registration fee for the workshop and space is limited.
  • Due to limited space, participants may only attend one free DHHS/School Health provided CNE per school year.
  • Due to limited space, we are requesting that only one person per system register.
  • Once registration has been open for two weeks, additional registrations will then be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Those who attempt to register after capacity has been reached will have their names automatically placed on a waiting list.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
