Dental Jurisprudence Exam

Please read the following instructions carefully before starting your Jurisprudence Exam.

 

  1. This is an open book exam with no fees, no fail and no time limit.
  2. Dental professionals are encouraged to use the statutes, rules, and any other resources necessary. You can access the Tennessee statutes and rules at Click here.
  3. Dental professionals may take the jurisprudence exam as many times as needed to “pass” with no penalties.
  4. After beginning the exam if you need to stop and save your place in the exam, click the gray box at the top of the page labeled "Save and continue later".  The exam will send you a one-time usable URL link to re-enter the exam at the point you left. Note: This feature can be used multiple times.
  5. Answer twenty-five (25) questions correctly to successfully complete the Jurisprudence Exam.
  6. Applicants for initial licensure, reinstatement or reactivation will be required to submit an application to Board of Dentistry BEFORE taking the Jurisprudence Exam. For more details Click here
  7. Renewal Applicants will be able to take the exam up to seventy (70) days prior to the expiration date of the license.  Licenses will not be renewed until the exam is completed before each renewal expiration date.
  8. Once you complete the examination, you will need to allow 48-72 hours for your scores to be posted.
