PSE SEIU Local 1948 - Colville Transportation Mid-Bargaining Survey

Greetings PSE Colville Transportation Members!

As you know, your PSE Chapter is in negotiations with First Student on your collective bargaining agreement. Your team is working tirelessly to fight for fair treatment, competitive wages, and dignity in your workplace. Your chapter’s Negotiation Team has met numerous times and has actively engaged the employer in negotiations over a span of 5 two-day meetings. The first rounds of negotiations dealt mostly with language changes to the contract, and we have come to agreement on several items. We are now entering into the financial/economic portions of bargaining and would like to have input from our members about the key areas in which they would like our Collective Bargaining Agreement to improve. Feedback from our membership is VITAL to the success of the Union in negotiations, as it is our duty to fully represent the will of our members.

Below is a survey that will help your voice be heard by the team, and in turn, by the company. Please be as detailed and honest as you can be in order for your team to best assist you and your brothers and sisters in PSE.

4. Please rank each of the following bargaining issues by importance. Order the items from the following list. First select an item with the spacebar to show a menu of possible ranking positions. Next, click a ranking position to order it in the ranked list. Note the menu will display more ordering options as you add items to the ranked list.
8. Do you feel like your safety is at risk when your on-board radio is malfunctioning/working incorrectly?
9. Do you support the union?
10. Do you feel like you have a voice in your workplace?
11. Have you ever received representation from the Union, either through the disciplinary process or by filing a grievance? If so, please explain in detail the nature of the issue and its final resolution.
12. Do you think the PSE chapter could do things differently to best represent its members? If so, please explain why you feel this way and provide possible solutions.
13. In your opinion, how has working for First Student changed since you were hired on?
