Come Together
Newspaper Advisers’ Back-to-School Workshop
Newton South, Thursday, Aug. 23
9 am-Noon
$10
Come Together with a group of newspaper advisers from across the state to dig into the real problems we’re all facing. The workshop will have three sessions:

“How do I handle this?”
A group of advisers will look at one adviser’s specific dilemma in depth, trying to give the person a new perspective on the issue, while at the same time getting insight into problems we all face as advisers.

“I should know how to do this, but…”
Maybe you haven’t quite figured out Snapchat. Or the basics of using a DSLR camera. Or how you should be teaching kids to write photo captions. Get a quick intro into a discrete skill you want to know more about.

“Is this any good?”
A group of advisers uses a concrete discussion protocol to look up close at real student work, asking questions like, “What about this works? What doesn’t?” “How do I help the kid improve and get better?”
