Special Education Sharing Forum - Trauma, Mental Health and Drug Related Issues - Thunder Bay- Airlane

The Chiefs of Ontario (COO) wish to invite all First Nation education staff to attend the following Special Education Sharing Forum.

There is no registration fee if you are working for a First Nation or First Nation organization. The registration fee for non-First Nation affiliated individuals or organizations is $300 (This includes members of the public, and or any outside organizations).  
Payment link is provided at the end of the registration. 

Registrations are due by Monday, September 24th, 2018. 

Space is limited to 100 spots and registration will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Please register ASAP to ensure your spot.

Airlane Hotel & Conference Centre - 698 Arthur Street West, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7E 5R8

Reservations must be booked by Monday, September 24, 2018 

Individuals are required to pay and book their own reservations. A block of guest rooms will be available at the Airlane Hotel & Conference Centre . Guest room rates are $105.00 (Standard or Double), $115.00  (Ground Floor Access, $125.00 (Executive Queen), and $135.00  (Executive King).  Contact the Hotel at 1-807-473-1605  or by fax at (807) 475-7552. The Hotel will honor reservations received by the above date. Reservations received after this date are subject to space availability and rate availability.


Purpose:
The Special Education Information Sharing Forum will provide an opportunity for First Nation Educators, Principals, Special Education Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and Tutor Escorts to learn more about Trauma, Mental Health, and Drug-Related Issues and how it can affect children's development. The Sharing Forum will also allow participants to network and connect with educators and presenters from across Ontario. 

Speakers will include:
Dr. Brenda Restoule, Dr. Michael Kirlew, Dr. Mark Aquash, Dr. Teresa Naseba Marsh, Alison Benedict & Lisa Wabange (CAMH), Hayley Stinson (Child Development Institute ) and more.


Meals:
Registration includes breakfast, snacks and lunch buffet on both days.

Travel:
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to reimburse travel or hotel expenses for this event.

At the Chiefs of Ontario, we appreciate having photos to use in our publications and presentations. By attending the workshop, it is assumed that participants authorize the use, without additional compensation of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice/photograph and community of residence for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner in any medium (including without limitation, radio broadcasts, newspapers and other publications and in television or film releases, slides, videotapes, distribution over the internet and picture data storage which the Chiefs of Ontario may deem appropriate and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.


Vendor:
Vendor registration fee is $150. Vendors, please keep in mind that the Forum will be starting Tuesday October 2 and ending Wednesday October 3. Please set up your booth the Morning of Tuesday October 2.  Vendors must be available for both days. Tables will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. (NO WALK-INS PLEASE)
