Trauma in Our Schools: Effective Management of Vicarious Trauma: Self Care Tools for Educators and Service Providers

The California School-Based Health Alliance is proud to announce Trauma in our Schools: Strategies for Making Our Schools More Trauma Informed learning series for educators, clinicians, school-based health providers, and other professionals working with young people in the Central Valley.

Please join us for the third in a series of trainings, Effective Management of Vicarious Trauma: Self Care Tools for Educators and Service Providers, on Friday, August 31 from 3-5pm. Training will take place at the Central Valley Community Foundation, 5260 N Palm Ave #122, Fresno, CA 93704.

Workshop 3: Effective Management of Vicarious Trauma

Working with children and families who have been hurt, and feeling committed or responsible to help increases a provider’s risk for vicarious trauma. Vicarious trauma is a normal and natural part of working with a trauma impacted population.  However, if not effectively managed, it can be permanently transformative and negatively impact both quality of work and quality of life. Participants in this training will have the opportunity to increase their understanding of vicarious trauma and its impact, while also learning practical and effective vicarious trauma management tools.
