2019 Broadway Show Trips

Interest in Upcoming Productions

Parks & Recreation is seeking feedback in order to select our 2019 Broadway Bus Trips.  The first set of questions in the survey will ask for your interest in individual show titles only.  Typically our trips range from $90 - $110 per person, including tickets and transportation, with upper or rear level seating.

Rate each show title on a scale of 1 to 10 indicating your interest.

THE CHER SHOW

Cher’s remarkably true story is brought to life in this new musical with a book by Rick Elice (Tony Award®–winning Best Musical Jersey Boys), direction by Jason Moore (Tony Award–winning Best Musical Avenue Q), choreography by Tony Award–winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), and orchestrations, arrangements and musical supervision by Tony Award–winner Daryl Waters (Memphis).

HEAD OVER HEELS

Heaven is a place on Broadway!  Head Over Heels is the bold and fierce new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry InchAvenue Q and Spring Awakening. Set to the iconic music of the 1980's all-female rock band The Go-Go's, it includes the hit songs “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle's “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and many more!  It's a hilarious and sexy celebration of love in all its infinite varieties, told through the story of a royal family that must embark on an extravagant journey to save their beloved kingdom, and find love and acceptance.

KING KONG

King Kong, the world’s most epic modern myth comes alive on Broadway through an innovative mix of robotics, puppetry, music and stagecraft.  King Kong follows the ambitious young actress Ann Darrow and maverick filmmaker Carl Denham as they voyage from the bustling streets of 1930s New York to an uncharted island to capture the world’s greatest wonder. At the center of this 21st-century theatrical reimagining: a 2,000-pound, 20-foot high gorilla and the woman who risks everything to help him.  Directed and choreographed by Olivier winner Drew McOnie, King Kong features an electrifying new score by Marius de Vries (La La Land) and Eddie Perfect (Strictly Ballroom The Musical), and a book by Jack Thorne, the Olivier Award-winning writer of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

KISS ME, KATE

Kiss Me, Kate returns to Broadway in February 2019 starring Kelli O'Hara in the hilarious duo leading roles of "Kate" and "Lilli Vanessi."  In Cole Porter’s sparkling 1948 musical, the warring lovers of The Taming of the Shrew are causing trouble both onstage and off. While putting on a musical version of Shakespeare’s play, exes Fred Graham and Lilli Vanessi can’t decide if they’re enraged, enamored or enormously confused whenever they cross paths out of character. Throw in some mistaken identity, a pair of surprisingly eloquent gangsters and a whole lot of romantic entanglements, and what you get is Kiss Me, Kate - a dazzling classic that earned the first-ever Tony Award for Best Musical.

MY FAIR LADY

The most beloved musical of all time, Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady returns to Broadway in a lavish new production from Lincoln Center Theater.  Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, My Fair Lady tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a young Cockney flower seller, and Henry Higgins, a linguistics professor who is determined to transform her into his idea of a “proper lady.” But who is really being transformed?  The classic score features “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “The Rain in Spain,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and “On the Street Where You Live.” The original 1956 production won six Tony Awards including Best Musical, and was hailed by The New York Times as “one of the best musicals of the century.”

SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL

Featuring three actresses in the title role and a score with more than 20 of Summer’s classic hits including “Love to Love You, Baby,” “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff,” this electric experience is a moving tribute to the voice of a generation.  Summer: The Donna Summer Musical featuring a book by Colman Domingo, Robert Cary and Des McAnuff, with songs by Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Jabara and others, will be directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, with music supervised by Ron Melrose and scenic design by Robert Brill, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Gareth Owen and projections by Sean Nieuwenhuis.

TOOTSIE
