Diabetes Quality Standards Advisory Committee Open Call

Introduction

Health Quality Ontario strives to promote health care that is supported by the best available scientific evidence. One of the ways we do this is by producing quality standards, a go-to resource for clinicians, patients, and the public to help them understand what high-quality care looks like. Quality standards focus on aspects of care that have been deemed a priority for quality improvement in the province (e.g., where there are large variations in how care is delivered, or where there are gaps between the care provided in Ontario and the care patients should receive). Health Quality Ontario is working to produce three quality standards on diabetes.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in joining one of 3 diabetes Quality Standard Advisory Committees. We are seeking people with lived experience, family members, informal caregivers, health care professionals, community service providers, administrators, and researchers from across Ontario who can advise us as we develop a quality standard on type 1 diabetes (children and adults), type 2 diabetes (children and adults) and diabetes in pregnancy (including pre-existing diabetes and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)) in all care settings in Ontario.
