The IPAWS National Test Survey

On October 3rd, 2018, at approximately 2:18 Eastern, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), conducted an IPAWS National Test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).

The goal was to test a nationwide system that is critical to warning the public about dangerous weather, missing children, and other urgent situations.

This survey is intended to assess the effectiveness of that test and better understand the current state of national preparedness.

*Individual responses and ratings collected through the assessment will be kept confidential, and will never be shared publicly.
