Scholarship Program Guidelines and Information
  1. To be eligible for these scholarships, each applicant must be an agriculture teacher who is employed to teach at least one CASE course in a school in the fall of 2019 OR actively seeking employment as an agriculture teacher beginning in the summer or fall of 2019 in a school where CASE courses will be taught.
  2. Each applicant must be a current member of the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE). Click this link to learn more, join, or renew your NAAE membership.
  3. Each applicant must prepare an application and supporting documents and submit the complete package during the course of this application. The deadline is February 28, 2019, however scholarships will be granted after review of qualifications until all available scholarships have been awarded.
  4. The scholarship applications will be evaluated by NAAE staff. Those applicants selected to receive scholarships will be notified by April 2019; unsuccessful applicants will also be notified.
  5. Successful applicants will receive a partial scholarship to participate in a CASE Institute of their choice unless designated by a specific award. Dates and locations for the 2019 CASE Institutes are on the CASE website at http://www.case4learning.org. The value of the scholarship varies according to the sponsor contribution, and might include any of the following:
    • Partial CASE Institute Scholarships for $2,000 to attend Agricultural Power and Technology (APT) or Mechanical Systems in Agriculture (MSA) CASE Institute are provided by the Association of Equipment Manufactures (AEM), in partnership with the Equipment Dealers Association (EDA) and the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association (FEMA).
    • Partial CASE Institute Scholarships for $2,000 to attend any CASE Institute are provided by Cargill.
    • Partial CASE Institute Scholarships for $1,500 to attend any CASE Institute with priority to teachers attending Natural Resources and Ecology (NRE) CASE Institutes are provided by the CHS Foundation.

  7. Each application submitted must include the following:
    • which CASE Institute you wish to attend, including which course and the location and dates of the institute (for a complete list of institute options, see the CASE website);
    • applicant's resume detailing career history (if beginning teacher applicant, be sure to include progress toward securing an agricultural teaching position where CASE courses will be taught), leadership and service activities;
    • narrative (approximately 500 words) detailing the scholarship's potential impact on students, agricultural education program, school, teacher, and/or community;
    • letter of support from a program supporter such as a school administrator or advisory council member indicating the commitment to CASE implementation;
    • if beginning teacher, a copy of the applicant's unofficial college/university transcripts from all colleges/universities attended including undergraduate and graduate course work (we understand that spring 2019 grades will not be available yet) [Please note that this criterion applies to beginning teachers only].

With the goal of supporting workforce development and sparking student interest in the equipment manufacturing industry, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), in partnership with the Equipment Dealers Association (EDA) and the Farm Equipment Manufactures Association (FEMA) generously sponsored Agricultural Power and Technology (APT) and Mechanical Systems in Agriculture (MSA) CASE Institute scholarships for beginning and experienced agriculture teachers.

         

As special projects of the National FFA Foundation, the CHS Foundation and Cargill generously sponsored scholarships for CASE Institutes for beginning and experienced agricultural teachers.
