We are excited to welcome you into the Mountaineer family. This New Student Registration Survey is designed to get you acquainted with Western’s academic requirements and will guide you through selecting classes using online tools that you will use to look up class availability and graduation requirements in future semesters. You need to have both your DegreeWorks as well as the Course Search webpage open while completing this survey.
Please note that this survey may take you up to an hour to complete, as you will be asked to identify your preferences for General Education and major requirements. If at any point you need to stop the survey, you will be able to click at the top of the page to “Save and continue survey later” on pages 2 and beyond.
Once you have completed the survey you will see a Thank You screen and that is how you know it has been submitted. An Academic Resource Center advisor will call and send an email to all email addresses on file within 10-14 business days with information on how to access your course schedule. The Academic Resource Center advisor is registering you for classes this first time.
If you are a transfer student bringing in 24 or more credits and your transfer evaluation is not done (your transfer coursework is not in DegreeWorks) you will not be able to register at this point in time. Please refer to the instructions at www.western.edu/registration to expedite your transfer evaluation. Once it is evaluated you may complete this registration survey.
If you are a non-degree seeking student, you do not need to complete this survey. Please visit www.western.edu/nondegree for information about registering as a non-degree seeking student.
