What Works Cities Certification is the standard of excellence for data-driven local government. The program’s 45 criteria outline the people, processes, and policies foundational to a well-managed city.

Completing the What Works Cities Assessment will enable you to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your local government’s management, benchmark your practices against those of your peers, determine how you can improve, and get support to drive outcomes for your community. Assessments are reviewed on a rolling basis, though we encourage you to submit as soon as possible in order to gain access to our exclusive resources.
