Future Ready Fund Expression of Interest

Introduction

About this form

Welcome to the Expression of Interest (EOI) form for the Future Ready Fund.

The development of wider skills and capabilities - alongside academic attainment - are often difficult to prioritise in schools today. At Nesta, we believe skills such as interpersonal skills and resilience are crucial to success in the economy and life - both today and in the future.

We are looking for innovative  interventions that help young people to develop these skills, and prepare them for success in life and the future world of work. We want to work with high potential organisations who support 11-18 year olds in the UK, who have a commitment to understanding and growing the impact they have.

To define these skills more specifically, we have used the descriptions in the Education Endowment Foundation’s SPECTRUM framework. This framework covers the key areas relating to our target skills - and within this framework we will be focusing on:
  • Emotional intelligence, in particular how to build good relationships and collaborate effectively
  • Social and emotional competence, particularly in relation to collaboration
  • Resilience and coping
  • Perceptions of self (self-confidence and self-efficacy)
  • Motivation, goal orientation and perseverance

The submission deadline for this form is 10th December 2018 at 9am. EOIs will be accepted via the online form ONLY.

Shortlisted EOIs will be required to attend a development meeting on the 16th, 17th or 18th January 2019 to co-develop their application and invited to submit a full application by 4th February 2019.

Before you begin

Please make sure you have read and understood the Future Ready Fund eligibility criteria and FAQs. We are also holding information webinar sessions to answer any of your questions, details of which can be found here.

I confirm my project:
  • Will be delivered in the UK for benefit of young people aged 11-18 living in the UK
  • Targets at least one of the target skill areas (as defined in our criteria and FAQs)
  • Has already been delivered in at least one school/college or location (if a non-school /college intervention)

The expression of interest will ask you about:
  • Your idea - how it develops the targeted skills, how it targets young people
  • Your thinking on evidence and impact - how you are informed by the wider evidence base, and any initial insights into impact that you have
  • Your capacity and potential for growth - how developed your intervention is and what support you are looking for to grow
  • Your organisation - a brief outline of who is working on the project and their experience

We expect this form to take approximately 60 minutes to complete if you have all the relevant information to hand.
