Tell us how you would like to enjoy open space

The City of Boulder is developing an Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Master Plan. We are currently looking for feedback on draft outcomes and strategies that will help establish priorities for Responsible Recreation, Stewardship and Enjoyment over the next decade and beyond.
2. We have three major themes to guide the "Responsible Recreation, Stewardship and Enjoyment" focus area for the Master Plan. Please rank these topics. Order the items from the following list. First select an item with the spacebar to show a menu of possible ranking positions. Next, click a ranking position to order it in the ranked list. Note the menu will display more ordering options as you add items to the ranked list.
3. Do any of the statements below describe barriers to your enjoyment of Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP)?
4. OSMP fosters high-quality experiences while also maintaining the integrity of sensitive natural areas through actions such as:
  • Temporary wildlife closures around designated trails
  • Muddy trail closures to protect trails and adjacent natural resources
  • Re-routing trails around sensitive areas
  • Education to instill a stewardship ethic, such as "Leave No Trace"

Do you have any other suggestions?
5. Amid increasing visitation along the Front Range, please tell us your level of agreement with these possible management options:
Space Cell Strongly AgreeAgreeNeutralDisagreeStrongly Disagree
Designate more areas as "on-trail use" only
Re-align or restore (close) unofficial, social trails that disturb habitats
Disperse visitation throughout the 155-mile trail system
Enact time-based separation of activities. For example: Hikers Tuesday / Bikers Wednesday
Enact one-way traffic requirements. For example on loop trails: Bikers go south while others activities go north or south
Consider process improvements to current dog management, such as the Voice and Sight Tag Program, "no dog" trails and dog waste management

7. Please tell us your level of agreement with the following statement: "OSMP should acquire additional properties that are of lower ecological value to increase passive recreation opportunities and reduce impacts on existing OSMP lands of higher ecological value."
