Thank you for taking a few minutes to respond to this survey.
The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from the community on traveling around Boulder by different modes, how well the city is performing core operational and maintenance services, and how the city should allocate limited resources to complete Boulder's vision of a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system.
Funding is a critical focus area of the 2019 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) update, as the city’s ability to build, operate and maintain Boulder’s transportation system is facing considerable pressure. Sales tax revenue has not kept pace with the increasing costs of operating the system, and funding from regional, state and federal sources is at risk.
For example, due to increasing construction and labor costs, a transportation project that cost $10 million in 2012 now costs about $14.5 million. Yet, sales tax in Boulder has been flattening over the past couple of years.
The 2019 TMP update is an opportunity to reevaluate transportation funding priorities, particularly in the area of core services, and create a new financial plan for 2020 and beyond.
