Black Expressions: Multifaceted Variations
Student Panel Presentation

Student speakers will make presentations about perceptions, stereotyping, biases, and experiences of being black.  Many of these topics will be relative to some of the speakers (if not all); Diversity within The Black Community, The Global Impact Of The N Word, The Importance of Cross Cultural Influences, and Struggles in the Black Community.  Some speakers personal and data driven stories will be similar while other stories will be drastically different.  Respect and Unity within the black community means different things to different people. The goal is to educate the attendees of the importance of black culture inclusive but not limited to traditions, heritage, valuesand norms.  They will highlight some of the African diaspora that immersed into the U.S. and throughout the world.  The black experience is also different based on geography, sexuality, social status, colorism, and other culture influences.  By the end of dinner, you will have a better understanding of multifaceted variations of black expressions in social settings.

This is an annual dinner that seats 120 people and is led by students from Ohio State Newark and COTC and sponsored by Multicultural Affairs.   The event is about education; educating children, teenagers, college students, professionals, neighbors, family members, and self.   This dinner is complete with student speakers, food, music and more.
