Private Wheel Throwing Party

District Clay Private Wheel Event!

Thank you for inquiring about a Private Wheel Event at the District Clay Center.  Celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday or friends getting together to try their hands at the pottery wheel.  We look forward to create a fun, laugh-filled and muddy event for you and your team.

Working on the pottery wheel is fun . . . and challenging.  It requires hand to eye coordination, careful placement of your hands and firm control over a rapidly spinning wheel.  Don't expect to make a perfect pot your first . . . or tenth time.  But you will be thrilled when you cause a cylinder to rise out of a solid lump of clay using your own two hands.  A rare few may even experience FLOW.   And for some people it just takes one class to lead to lifelong avocation.

Please fill out this brief questionnaire and our Private Event Manager, Jon Kerr, will get back to you shortly.  A copy of this questionaire will be sent you.
Basic Info:

Cost:  $65 per person; 6 to 26 participants.  Ten years old and above.

What it includes:  2 1/2 hours of fun on the pottery wheel.   Instruction by a DCC teacher, clay and tools provided.  Also a full studio tour including our gallery, wheel room and kiln areas.  Beer, wine, water and some crackers also included.

What we need:  We need a 50% deposit to hold your event with any remaining amounts due at the beginning of the event.

What you need to bring:  a small towel or apron.

Important:

We can refund 100% of the deposit if you give us at least 48 hours notice that you cannot make a date.  Under 48 hours notice, we can only be able to refund 50% of your deposit.  Also, let us know if the number in your party changes. Because these events require set up time, any changes have to be received 24 hours before the event starts so that you can avoid being charged for people that don't attend.

On the day of your event, please be on time. Because we schedule multiple events as well as regular classes, your start and stop time cannot be changed at the last minute.
