Concussion Quality Standard Advisory Committee Open Call

Health Quality Ontario strives to promote health care that is supported by the best available scientific evidence. One of the ways we do this is by producing quality standards, a go-to resource for clinicians, patients, and the public to help them understand what high-quality care looks like. Quality standards focus on aspects of care that have been deemed a priority for quality improvement in the province (e.g., where there are large variations in how care is delivered, or where there are gaps between the care provided in Ontario and the care patients should receive).

Health Quality Ontario is working in partnership with the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation to produce a Concussion Quality Standard. The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation is a non-profit organization funded by the Ontario government that works to prevent neurotrauma, and ensure Ontarians with neurotrauma lead full, productive lives.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in joining the Concussion Quality Standard Advisory Committee. We are seeking people with lived experience, family members, informal caregivers, health care professionals, community service providers, administrators, and researchers from across Ontario who can advise us as we develop a quality standard on concussion.

This quality standard will focus on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms in children and adults. It focuses on care in any setting where concussion care is provided, including primary care, emergency department, hospital outpatient care, and concussion clinics.
