2019 HSS SNF Seminar Application

Welcome to the HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation 2019 Orthopaedic Education Seminar Program application! Please note that you must complete the entire application in English

Before you begin, please consult the below eligibility criteria:
  • Greek orthopaedic surgeons currently practicing in Greece
  • Junior attending orthopaedic surgeons (less than 10 years in practice)
  • Applicants may not have attended more than one previous HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Seminar Program.
  • Priority will be given to applicants that practice in public hospitals/in rural regions of Greece
Additionally, please have the following information available with electronic versions of required documents listed below: 
  • Recent Digital Photo
     
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV) to include:
    • Work History
    • Education History
    • Contact Information
    • Special awards and honors while in medical school, residency, and/or fellowship
    • Membership/Leadership positions held on National, Regional, or Local orthopedic committees or professional organizations
    • Peer-reviewed articles (published and in Press)
    • Non-peer reviewed articles
    • Textbooks and textbook chapters you have authored or co-authored
    • Other media: List movies, audio tapes, video tapes, which you have developed or co-developed
    • National/Regional/Local scientific presentations
    • Peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed research grants
    • Non-academic achievements and community service activities
       
  • License to practice Medicine (in English)
     
  • Two letters of recommendation from professional and/or academic references on official letterhead
     
  • Copy of medical school diploma (in English)
     
  • Two Personal Statements (1 page each on the following topics:)
    • (1) Describe the areas of your special interests in arthroplasty
    • (2) Describe how you will use the knowledge and experience that you gain from HSS to make a larger impact on improving musculoskeletal care in Greece
       
  • OPTIONAL - An interesting arthroplasty case to share with Seminar Program participants and HSS Faculty during the case presentation sessions
Please note, the Academic Visitor Program includes participation in the Seminar Program. If you are 1 or 2 years post-residency and are interested in the Academic Visitor Program as well as the Seminar Program, you need only apply to the Academic Visitor Program. If you are not accepted to the Academic Visitor Program, you can still elect to be considered for the Seminar Program in your application.
