Notice of intent to submit white papers on activities, projects, or state of the profession considerations to the Astro2020 Decadal Survey

To aid in survey preparation and to ensure that the Astro2020 decadal survey committee and panels have the necessary expertise, the decadal survey is requesting short notices of future intent (NOIs) to submit white papers on activities, projects, or state of the profession considerations, referred to as APC white papers. We request that you submit a very short NOI no later than March 20, 2019, if you plan to submit a white paper on an activity, project, or state of the profession consideration. Note that the APC white papers are distinct from the science-focused white papers that are due March 11, 2019. An NOI is not required for future APC white paper submission, but it is strongly encouraged to help facilitate decadal planning. We request that only one NOI be submitted per APC team.

Your contribution will be disseminated by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). As a contributor of a Notice of intent for submitting white paper input to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Committee for Decadal Survey on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2020 (Astro2020) (“NOI/White Paper”), I hereby grant a nonexclusive, no-cost, worldwide, transferable, irrevocable license authorizing the NAS and others acting on their behalf to publish, use, duplicate, disclose, and display my NOI/White Paper. (Nonexclusive means that you may grant these same rights to other parties without violating this licensing agreement.)

I understand and agree that the foregoing NOI/White Paper may be edited and used by NAS or their agents in whole or in part for the following purposes: (1) posting to the NAS website and other dissemination via the worldwide web and other electronic media; (2) listing in the Public Access File created for the Decadal Survey; and (3) reproduction in NAS’ print publications.
