Asia Urban Food Systems Study

About this research

You were specially selected to complete this survey, thank you for agreeing to complete it.

The purpose of this survey is to understand urban food systems* in Asia. The research is jointly conducted by the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Our main objective is to learn from policies and actions in your city that relate to urban food systems, and to learn useful strategies that have contributed to sufficient and healthy food for all, particularly low-income residents.

This 20-30 minute survey will be conducted in municipalities, towns and cities in Asia. Your organisation was selected to be part of this study; if you agree to participate, your responses will be treated confidentially and used strictly for research purposes. For identification in the study, only your affiliation will be used and not your name. We will be happy to share the final report with you.

The questions covered here are about the food initiatives existing in your city. We kindly ask that you provide your responses based on your experience and knowledge of your city.  We ask that your responses be on behalf of your organization and be as honest as possible. This will help us to have a wider view of the food system in your city.

Thank you.

World Bank and the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO)

*Food systems encompass the entire range of actors and their interlinked value-adding activities involved in the production, aggregation, processing, distribution, consumption and disposal of food products that originate from agriculture, forestry or fisheries, and parts of the broader economic, societal and natural environments in which they are embedded.
