*Hot Spot nominations are now broken into three financial categories: 1) Those with existing or available funds to put toward Hot Spot efforts, 2) Those who are able to work with Leave No Trace staff to collaboratively submit local or regional grant proposals to help fund Hot Spot efforts, and 3) Those who both do not have available funding and are not aware of or able to seek grant proposals. We understand circumstances vary across all parks and protected areas, so being in category 3 does not eliminate your chances of being selected, but initial preference will be given to categories 1 and 2. We are able to help search for possible local and regional grants to collaboratively submit proposals for, as well.

Grant funds would be shared between the Center and your organization/agency to offset the cost of Hot Spots for the Center as well as establishing funding for future implementation of Leave No Trace on-site resulting from the Hot Spot (i.e. updating signage, sending a staff member to a Trainer Course or Master Educator Course, etc).
