Thank you for agreeing to participate in this survey.

Community feedback is an important part of how Regional Roads Victoria seeks to continually improve the Victorian road network and make it safer.

The Hume Freeway is one of Australia’s major national highways. It’s a vital link for road freight to transport goods to and from Melbourne and Sydney. The Victorian Government has committed to a planning study to improve road safety on the Hume Freeway at Wodonga. One of the sections identified for improvement was the intersection of the Hume Freeway with McKoy Street and Old Barnawartha Road.

The intersection previously had an 80km/h speed restriction from 7am to 7pm which reverted to 110km/h outside of those hours.

In September 2018, Regional Roads Victoria introduced a trial of a fixed 80km/h speed zone at the McKoy Street and Old Barnawartha Road intersection.

We’re seeking community feedback on the trial of the 24-hour 80km/h speed zone, to better understand the impact it’s had on motorists.

Your feedback will be used in conjunction with feedback from Victoria Police, Local Government, traffic data and other technical assessments, to inform our decision for an appropriate speed limit at the intersection.

The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and will close at midnight on Tuesday 30th April 2019.
