The NYC Good Governance Summer Academy provides nonprofit executives with the knowledge and resources to improve their board governance practices, as well as strengthens networks of support among nonprofit leadership in NYC. Trainings are facilitated by members of the NYC Nonprofit Board Development Coalition, led by NYC Service.

Please note the Summer Academy is intended for currently existing 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and nonprofit executives with introductory knowledge of governance best practices.

Preference will be given to organizations that commit the attendance of both the ED/CEO and a board member at all trainings. EDs/CEOs and board members must each submit separate applications.

We strongly encourage that at most two board members alternate between trainings.

For organizations that are run by the board and do not have an ED/CEO position, the Board President may apply in addition to another board member.
