2019 Summer LGBTQ MBA Consulting Project

The LGBTQ MBA Consulting Project is a partnership between Reaching Out, PwC Strategy&, and admitted students at the top business schools in Reaching Out's Affiliate Network.

Participating in the LGBTQ MBACP is a great way for students interested in management consulting careers to get a better understanding of what the work entails through client engagement. Benefits include giving back to the broader LGBTQ and nonprofit community, improving newfound MBA skills, and interacting with peers at other schools in the LGBTQ MBA network.

The LGBTQ MBACP is an approximately eight week program in which LGBTQ MBA students located in the featured cities will be put together on a cross-school team with 4-6 other LGBTQ MBA students. We anticipate that projects will start in early-June and conclude mid-July.

A project leader from PwC Strategy& will be assigned to each team to work on a strategic issue that a local non-profit is facing. Participants should be prepared to participate in two weekly hour-long group calls with individual project work assigned between calls.

The teamwork is largely done virtually (by phone/email), but there may be an opportunity for an in-person strategy session depending on team member locations. Projects are tentatively scheduled for New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. While proximity over the summer does not factor into acceptance for the project, it can be helpful to the staff when creating teams.

Participation in the program will be selective and applications will be reviewed by Reaching Out staff and PwC Strategy& to ensure that a mix of schools, background and interests are incorporated in each team.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with a priority deadline of April 30, 2019 with a secondary consideration deadline of May 12th, 2019.

We will notify those selected on or around the third week of May.
