For the last 10 years CLINIC has had the privilege of working with nonprofit organizations that provide a wide-range of services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. CLINIC was able to provide training and assistance to nonprofit organizations wanting to provide information, resources and immigration legal services to foreign-born survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through the DOJ Recognition and Accreditation program.
The Department of Justice has removed all categories related to immigration law for non-attorneys from its 2019 solicitation, therefore, CLINIC will no longer receive support for immigrant survivor work.
CLINIC will be offering one more Introduction to Immigration Law Practice: A Course for New Practitioners 6 week e-learning course for Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees starting July 2, 2019. In September we will host our last OVW funded webinar for recognized organizations that need to renew agency recognition by January of 2020. Please view our
webpage to register for these trainings.
We hope to be able to continue to provide training and assistance to programs dedicated to bringing hope and healing to the lives of foreign-born survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In order to do so, CLINIC would like to learn more about the need for training on immigration law and capacity building for non-attorneys desiring to become authorized practitioners to provide immigration legal services to foreign born survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
