2020 Georgia Legislative Internship Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the 2020 Georgia Legislative Internship Program. Please read the following information carefully. You will have the option to save your progress and return to the application later.
 

Please note the following qualifications for applicants:

  • Must be a legal Georgia resident and a U.S. citizen
  • Must be an undergraduate student, second year or above
  • Must enroll to receive 6 credit hours for the internship, provided by the School of Public Policy
Selection is based on academic standing and potential for leadership in politics and government as indicated by grades, work experience, extracurricular activities, interests, and maturity. You will be asked to furnish a transcript and resume, as well as references from people who have taught you or worked with you.
Please note the following dates and deadlines for the 2020 Georgia Legislative Internship Program:

Application Period:
  • Application deadline: Thursday, September 19, 2019 by 5pm
  • Candidate Interviews: week of November 4, 2019
Accepted Applicants:
  • Placement Interviews: Mid December 2019
  • Orientation: Wednesday, January 8 through Friday, January 10, 2020
  • First day of Legislative Session: Monday, January 13, 2020

You will be asked to submit the following materials in addition to this application questionnaire:
  • Official transcript
  • Two to five page essay
  • Resume
  • At least two completed reference forms (download reference form here)
